The activities of spammers appear to have their own trend every year. There are times when their incentives to do the action, but some are not very active when they disrupt the user’s email. They are active usually use the momentum of the day or celebration.
In this March, ahead of the Easter holiday, Kaspersky found spam that offers Easter and holiday gifts is quite a lot. Interestingly, Kaspersky also found that exploit mass mailing dated March 8, the World Women’s Day. Surprisingly, the women are offered a gift of pills ‘special man’.
On February Kaspersky report spam, the spammers continue the activities of a mass mailing that began in January in connection with Valentine’s Day. The highest recorded amount of spam on 12 February by 0.2 percent of total shipments spam.
Throughout February, 2.8 percent of all emails contain a malicious file, down 1.5 percent over the previous month. In two consecutive months, the U.S. became the country with the largest antivirus email detection, although the overall numbers decline compared to January.
Russia is no longer on the list of Top 10 in the detection of Kaspersky Antivirus Mail, was replaced by Brazil. India fell from rank 4 to rank 6 after the amount of spam received as a whole fell 1.5 percent and the fourth place is now occupied by Germany.
“The decline in the distribution of spam including the dangerous attachment is probably just a temporary phenomenon,” said Maria Namestnikova, Senior Analyst Spam Kaspersky Lab releases received in Tribune, Friday (03/30/2012).
“It seems that spammers will not stop sending malware, especially when the level of spam on the Internet domain contracts in developing countries declined due to economic crisis.”
Rating of “producing state” spam is not much changed. India still ranked first, followed by Indonesia and Brazil. 12 players take the same position as last month, though some have changed positions. Overall, spam-producing countries remain the same as the 12 countries on the list in January, where there is only a change in rank only.
