Google has recently launched its social service representative Google buzz with all its buzzing sound. Although the old tactics of Google haven’t got success in the social media domain and you witnessed seem-to-be-large-social-platform orkut was limited to Brazil and India, but the Google Buzz has come up with competitive features in the social-tech world.

Mind you, competitive but almost the same, the same social networking. It copied the feature of Facebook and Twitter that allows users to share real time status updates with contact list, post photos and links to get in touch with your Gmail contacts.Now what are the common in about 3 years old Facebook and few days Google Buzz.Real time status updates-Both in Facebook and Google buzz, you can update your status updates in real time.

The Buzz That Is Google Buzz

Earlier this week, Google launch its latest foray into social networking, the Google Buzz. It seems to be generating quite a buzz among web users, and will probably be most successful social attempt yet from Google. While a lot has been covered about the launch, critics, privacy issues, and the fix, little has been discussed about the implications to webmasters and web marketers.

Emergence of social bookmarking has revolutionized web marketing in more than one ways, starting with early social bookmarking for geeks such as Digg and to Facebook and Twitter. Will Google Buzz makes any dent to Facebook and Twitter, the currently preferred choices of web marketers?

How To Turn Off Google Buzz

Google Buzz was officially introduced on February 9, 2010 in the Official Google Blog. You can read the entire blog post on Google’s blog. To summarize, Google Buzz is Google’s answer to the increasing popularity of Facebook – particularly among younger Internet users. In fact a recent study released by Pew Internet and American Life project found that 73 percent of teens who are online use social networking sites. The study was based on a telephone survey of 800 people, aged 12 to 17, that was conducted from June to September of 2009. As Google previously had a miniscule presence in social networking, Buzz is another of the Google ‘’steps taken to add social features to our products”.

Google Buzz is built around the Gmail emailing platform. In fact, it is automatically built into Gmail retroactively for every single Gmail user. According to Google’s own description of the new product, ”Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting. It’s built right into Gmail, so you don’t have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch — it just works”. That may be true, buy I soon found that my work contacts – for instance the folks over at HostingCon or my friends at website hosting firm 34SP. com – were now viewing all my private contacts – that is, my family and friends private contact info. This was done without my knowledge or authorization by Google.

Here are some tips and tricks about new google buzz

1.Add google buzz button to your blogspot. 2. How to Disable e-mail notification

Google Buzz lets you import content from services like Google Reader, Picasa, Blogger, Twitter, Flickr.

Shift+l – like a message m – mute (ignore) a conversation r – add a comment

5.Subscribe to a Google Buzz account in a feed reader Google Buzz’s search feature shows the latest public messages that match your query. Some useful searches:

Google Buzz’s search feature shows the latest public messages that match your query. Some useful searches: author:@gmail.com – find all the messages written by a specific user (you can also use a partial name instead of an email address)commenter:@gmail.com – find all the messages that have a comment from a specific userhas:photo, has:video, has:link – restricts the results to messages that include photos, videos or links (for example: vancouver has:photo)source:flickr, source:twitter, source:reader- restricts the results to messages imported from Flickr, Twitter, Google Reader (for example: vancouver source:flickr)

7. View Google Buzz photos in a slideshow When you upload photos to Google Buzz, they’re added to Picasa Web Albums. If you click on a thumbnail, Google Buzz will open a lightbox to help you quickly navigate between images. Unfortunately, there’s no option to view the images in a slideshow, but Picasa Web Albums has this feature and there’s a small link that opens the photo album. Click on “view all” and you can select the slideshow option, export photos using Picasa or print photos.
